Portable Media Devices. Are they a risk?

Quite often I am spurred on to write about a subject based on news that I read. This time it was a study by Gartner that indicates portable media devices such as those used as mp3 players etc, are risks to a company. Now when I read this I immediately thought, yeah I agree with that. Then I thought really that is just common sense, and they are in many ways a little behind the times with things. Finding the Right Security Specialist

Let’s face it. There are many times in our careers as business owners, managers, network managers, security managers, CIOs, CISOs, etc that we need to hire that security specialist. Whether it be the independent contractor who is only needed to perform an external audit, or the full time security specialist. The process shouldn’t be taken lightly. This person will be indirectly responsible for whatever value you place on your information systems. That could potentially be millions of dollars.
